Hyman Rickover – He served the United States Navy from 1918 to 1982, and was the leading Engineer in the USN from 1953 to 1982, during which time he supervised the development of practical nuclear reactors capable of safely generating both mechanical and electrical power. The rest of the world built upon his discoveries and efforts.

to Protect Mankind and
Colonize the Solar System
Thought experiment example:

If colonizing the solar system helps protect mankind, consider the following:
​
1 - A wholesome and sustainable society on Earth does not absolutely depend upon Colonizing the Solar System.
​
2 - The Colonization of the Solar System does absolutely depend upon a wholesome, robust, sustainable civilization.
​
​
Therefore: A concerned engineer must take into account both issues to properly develop a solution/roadpath for the Colonization of the Solar System Proposal
and protecting the future of mankind.
